The House

This spacious Georgian town house overlooks the cobbled, tree-lined thoroughfare of Kirkgate, part of the conservation area of Cockermouth. It has been recently renovated and comfortably refurbished. It is light and airy with unusual features in all the rooms adding to its charm and character. We hope that visitors will feel comfortable and at home within its walls.

The kitchen leads off from a spacious, functional dining room and the comfortable lounge is reached across the original tiled hall and features a log effect gas fire and colour television with integral video player.

Upstairs the master bedroom has two single beds, fitted wardrobe, and dressing table area. The decoration is on classic lines and the original cast iron fireplace is still a feature of the room.

The side bedroom is decorated in fresh colours with contrasting furnishings. There is a single divan and the room is large enough to accommodate another bed. The double bedroom at the rear of the property has a low-ceiling and an interesting window. Its floral decoration echoes a cottage garden.

The warm and welcoming bathroom is well appointed and has an electric shower over the bath. Visitors will have access to the small, well maintain cottage garden. There is off-street parking for one car.

Shops, public transport, restaurants and the town’s tourist attractions are all within a short walking distance. This centrally heated property is an ideal base for exploring the northern lakes in either an active or leisurely manner. The west coast of Cumbria also holds many attractions and is equally accessible.

All bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included in the rent quoted.
